Ho ho, I see this morning that I had a very good idea to delete my Uber account, in 2016 to protest about the inappropriate reaction (or even absence of) that Uber had with harassment on some on their female employees, when I read this news, published now (the emphasis is from me):
I recently learned that in late 2016 we became aware that two individuals outside the company had inappropriately accessed user data stored on a third-party cloud-based service that we use. The incident did not breach our corporate systems or infrastructure. […]
[…] Some personal information of 57 million Uber users around the world, including the drivers described above. This information included names, email addresses and mobile phone numbers.

So I’m not concerned by this issue, but may be you? If so, take care…

Not concerned either, as I did not have an account with them, for two reasons : 1) Uber does not, to my knowledge, operate in my area, and I seldom travel to big cities 2) I prefer not to encourage their (or any other company) economical model, based on people’s (their drivers) exploitation and an insane obsession for evading tax by any means.
This sort of leaks happening all the time, I try by principle to avoid opening any more accounts than the ones I absolutely need. In general, I do not shop online, and never give identification if it can be avoided… and I often avoid services where too many personal informations are requested and registered online ;)
